Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 22, 2026 | Last Updated: March 22, 2026
Corvus Intel ("we," "our," or "the App") is a real-time intelligence aggregation application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and web platform.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Source Configuration: RSS feed URLs, custom source names, categories, and region preferences you configure.
- Watchlists & Keywords: Watchlist names, keywords, and filter preferences you create.
- Alert Rules: Keywords, priority levels, and notification preferences for push alerts.
- API Keys: Third-party API keys you voluntarily enter (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Groq, Perplexity, Ollama endpoints) for AI-powered features. These are stored locally on your device only.
- Notes & Annotations: Any notes or annotations you add to articles.
- Bookmarks: Articles you save or bookmark.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Feed Content: RSS and Atom feed data fetched from publicly available sources on your behalf. This data is cached locally on your device.
- Usage Data: Session statistics (articles read, sync frequency, active sources) stored locally for your dashboard.
- Device Information: Basic device type and browser information for responsive layout purposes only.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect personal identification information (name, email, phone) unless you voluntarily provide it.
- We do not track your location unless you explicitly use the weather feature with a city name.
- We do not use advertising trackers, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking pixels.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
- We do not store your data on our servers. All data is stored locally on your device using IndexedDB and localStorage.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Feed Aggregation: To fetch and display RSS/Atom feed content from sources you configure.
- Notifications: To send push alerts when your configured keywords or alert rules are triggered.
- AI Features: When you provide an API key and request AI summaries, your headline data is sent directly from your device to the AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Groq, Perplexity, or your local Ollama instance). We do not proxy or store this data.
- Briefing Generation: To generate daily intelligence briefings from your cached feed data, processed entirely on your device.
- Offline Access: To cache briefing data locally for offline reading.
3. Data Storage & Security
- All application data is stored locally on your device using browser IndexedDB and localStorage.
- API keys are stored locally and never transmitted to our servers.
- When using AI features, data is transmitted directly from your device to the selected AI provider over HTTPS.
- RSS feed data is fetched via CORS proxy services (allorigins, codetabs) or directly. These proxies may log standard web server access logs.
- You can export all your data at any time using the Export function.
- You can delete all your data by clearing your browser/app data.
4. Third-Party Services
The App may interact with the following third-party services at your direction:
- CORS Proxy Services: api.allorigins.win, api.codetabs.com, corsproxy.io — used to fetch RSS feeds that don't support cross-origin requests.
- AI Providers: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, Google (Gemini), Groq, Perplexity — only when you provide an API key and request AI features.
- Leaflet / OpenStreetMap: For the GEOINT mapping feature.
- Messaging Platforms: WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram — only when you explicitly share content via share buttons. We use standard web share URLs.
5. Children's Privacy
Corvus Intel is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
6. Your Rights
- Access: All your data is stored locally — you can view it anytime via Export.
- Delete: Clear browser/app data to remove all stored information.
- Portability: Export your data as JSON or OPML at any time.
- Control: You choose which sources to add, which AI providers to use, and what data to share.
7. Cookie Policy
Corvus Intel does not set its own tracking cookies and does not use any third-party advertising or analytics cookie. Specifically:
- No first-party tracking cookies. We do not write a cookie identifying your browser or session for analytics or advertising. The dashboard functions entirely without setting any cookie.
- No third-party advertising cookies. The site has no advertising network, no retargeting pixel, no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, and no tag manager.
- localStorage and IndexedDB instead. Your watchlists, bookmarks, source list, theme preference, and cached feed data live in your browser’s localStorage and IndexedDB on your device. Nothing is transmitted back to a server. You can clear this storage at any time through your browser’s site-data controls.
- Service worker storage. The dashboard registers a service worker to enable offline reading. Cached pages and assets live in the browser’s Cache Storage; you can unregister the service worker through your browser’s developer tools.
- Third-party AI providers. If you opt into AI features by entering your own API key, requests go directly from your browser to the chosen provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Groq, Perplexity, or your local Ollama). Their cookie and data-handling policies apply to those direct interactions.
Because no first-party cookie identifies you and no third-party tracker is loaded by default, the site does not display a cookie banner under ePrivacy / GDPR consent rules. If you load AI provider domains through their APIs, those connections may set cookies for that provider; consult the provider’s policy for details.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
